Everything is rolling along

Life has been traveling at such a fast pace lately. I have been good about putting up pictures but haven't really said what we have been doing. So starting back...

In April, I left the Dumb Friends League to work as a Job Coach for Arts Street. I am working with young adults in Interactive Media. I am really liking what I do and I think the students are amazing. We are doing projects for the community to get the students experience. Here is a link to one of the projects we worked on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-frSoix2zjw

As the summer began, a lot of Lauren's friends left the daycare to go to summer camp. So in July, we decided to move her to summer camp at the YMCA. She has a hard time with transitions and we thought this would be hard for her. The first week was hard because she kept forgetting to drink water and was dehydrated a couple of days. But she loved it. She got to go to water parks, the zoo, the movies, family fun centers, got to kayak, went to a science center...it was a busy summer.

We had June and July off from dance class but still met on Tuesday nights at the park with friends. It was really a "mommy time" but the kids got to play and the mommies got to talk. In August, Lolly started back to Dance Boulevard. She is in Jazz this year and is really loving it. I will try to get her practising her routine to "The Loco-Motion".

Before she started back to school, we had 5 days of VBS and then went on a short vacation. VBS was good. I love teaching it and seeing the kids get excited but it made for long nights. We went to the western slope and through flaming gorge before coming home. We were only gone 4 days but it was a good time. Lauren and I are flying to Omaha in October to visit Grandma Meyer and Grandpa Iowa.

School started with a bang. She really loves going everyday and was disappointed this weekend that she has extra days off. She hasn't been bored yet. I think all day Kindergarten is good for her. She gets music, art and PE classes. She already knew her PE teacher because she goes to our church. She has already told me that I don't need to walk her up to her door. I didn't think that would come so soon.

We have been to Leadville about 2 times a month and have been camping a couple of times this summer. I think we will head camping again in 2 weeks. We are walking in the Arvada Harvest Festival Parade this Saturday and I will post some good pictures.

AWANAS starts this week at church and that will keep us busy. I am the new Director of K - 2nd graders and Lauren will be moving up into my group.

Tom and I are doing well too. Just thought I would let you know since the blog is really about Lauren.

I will be putting up more pictures soon. If I haven't emailed or called you a in long while, I am sorry. I just can't find the time. We do miss you all.
