Need to play catch up...Family visits, Baseball games, Glenwood Springs and the First Day of School

Summer has been busy lately. Lauren has been in swimming lessons and has done great. She also went to Id-Ra-Ha-Je camp in the mountains for 3 days. She is looking forward to going back next year. (I will post her pictures that she took when I remember to put them on the computer). We have been busy getting ready to school starting and doing lots of extra swimming and riding bikes. She needed to head back to school. Her brain needs to be worked.
First Day of School. She was nervous but we got ready and walked to school this morning. Met her teacher and she marched right in. She was taller than most all the kids in her class. She is going to be a great 1st grader. She picked this outfit out all by herself (with some subtle coaxing haha). Everything in the stores is 80's Punk Plaid with Skulls - cute but not for the first day of school.

Flash Stumpff (AKA Ian Buddy).

Yep, That's my mom and I love her. It was nice to have them out. I didn't take a lot of pictures when everyone was here. Sara did do I will have her email me some more pictures.

We have gone to a few Sky Sox games in the Springs this summer. It is the perfect way to get a kid to like baseball. You get to sit close and really see the game.

We took the Tram Way to the top of the mountain in Glenwood Springs (to an amusement park). Itwas cheesy but we wanted to ride the Tram. We got stuck at the top because a lightening storm came through so we had to wait for it to pass.

Tom and Lauren rode on the apline slide at this amusement park.

Chopping down a tree in Leadville

Vacation in South Dakota

In June, we went on vacation to South Dakota. We camped at Wind Cave National Park and it was a wonderful campground. Definately a well kept secret. We visited Rushmore, Deadwood, Bandland, Wall Drug and just had a good time in general. We spent the last half of the week in Leadville. I will put up the picture of the tree that Tom and his Dad chopped down.
We visited a casino in Deadwood, SD and got to see thier car museum. This is Lauren looking at The Smoky and the Bandit car. Too Cool!!

This is Lauren and Calmity Jane at Wall Drug. I have a picture of me with the same lady whne I was a kid.

This is also at Wall Drug. Lauren and the Jackalope. I have a picture of me on this as a kid as well.

Tom and Lauren looking at stuff in the Badlands.

Beautiful Mount Rushmore. It was a great day and I have lots of great pictures.

Buffalo outside of our car on the way out of Wind Caves National Park. They had babies. It was glorious!

Tom lounging at the camp ground at Wind Cave National Park. We LOVED this campground!

A picture in the cave. We went on two tours while camping.

Dance Recital - June 4, 5, and 6th

Here are some a pictures from the dance recital. Lauren danced in the Jazz class and Ballet.

Last day of Kindergarten (I am far behind in blogs so there will be a few)

In May, Lauren finished up her last day of Kindergarten at Fremont Elementary in Arvada. They had a nice graduation ceremony. They sang songs, had fairy dust sprinkled on them and had cake and punch. It was really special. Now my little girl is a first grader.

We also decided to have a couple of girls from school over for a sleepover that night as well. Wow, that was interesting. Here are some pictures from the two days....

Pictures of the new house, part 2

As you can tell, we are still putting things away and trying to get organized. We only moved in last Saturday and having been trying hard to get settled. But I know Mom and Sara have been wanting new pictures of the house so I wanted to appease them. : )
This looking out the back door. The shed needs some work but it is nice and private.
This is a picture of the neighborhood cul-de-sac.
This is the living room. Looking into the living room from the kitchen pass through
This is the family room - game, records and books.

Kitchen. Cabinets need to be updated and the tile is a little gaudy but it is okay. Nice and open and lots of sunlight.

This is the outside during the spring snow storm yesterday.

This is looking to the stairs of the tri-level. Upstairs is the master bed, bathroom and guest room (or as grandma likes to call it - her bedroom)

This is the main bathroom upstairs.

This is Lauren's private bathroom and laundry room.

This is Lauren's bedroom with her still sleeping this morning.
