First Day of School

Here are two pictures of the first day of school. She got a new outfit for school - new jeans, new crocs (with jewels) and a Hannah Montana shirt. And then it was raining today so she had to put her new Wyoming hoodie over the whole outfit. She walked right into her classroom without looking back. She is such a big girl. I can't believe how fast it is going. She will be 16 before I know - asking for the keys to the car and introducing us to her "boyfriend".

Vacation PIctures

Since school was starting, we decided to take a short vacation before school began. We went camping at Highline State Park outside of Grand Junction on the Western Slope and then headed to Dinosaur National Momument. That day was a disappointment. Because the visitor center is closed due to stability issues, there is no fossils to see. We camped there. We headed to Flaming Gorge and then to Rawlins, WY the next day. This made up for everything. It was beautiful. We wish we would have camped there instead. Rawlins was an armpit of a town. (Or as Gma Beth said "The town is rough"). There was one restaurant appropriate to take a kid into, rest were bars. On Tuesday, we busted home after a tour of the closed Wyoming State Pen. It was a great small trip. I love the western slope. I think we might take a quick trip over to get a bottle or two of wine in the next couple of weeks.
